HOMOEOPATHY AND SOCIAL MEDICINE

In the footnote to § 271 he outlines a social and philanthropic medical service whereby the sick, whether rich or poor, would be given free remedies through the bounty of the State.(Dr.Pierre Schmidt - Hidden treasures of the sixth edition )
A new foot-note is added in the Sixth Edition, as follows: "Until the State, in the future, after having attained insight into the indispensability of perfectly prepared homoeopathic medicines, will have them manufactured by a competent impartial person, in order to give them free of charge to homoeopathic physicians trained in homoeopathic hospitals, who have been examined theoretically and practically, and thus legally qualified. The physician may then become convinced of these divine tools for purposes of healing, but also to give them free of charge to his patients - rich and poor". -

WISDOM FROM VITHOULKAS SIR

It is just an excerpt from essence of Materia Medica ,from Nux vom drug picture by VIthoulkas Sir.I feel I lucidly states  a very fundamental concept.

As always in homoeopathy, however, we must be careful not to prescribed Nux vomica on the basis of such positive and constructive personality traits. Unlike the techniques of astrology, palmistry, handwriting analysis, physiognomy and others, which describe the qualities of the person - whether for good or bad - homoeopathy bases its prescriptions on the pathological state of the person. We would not wish to give a remedy which might make a person less pragmatic and efficient! So, let us consider the states in the development of the pathological state requiring Nux vomica for cure.

MIASMS IN DIFFERENT EYES

Hahnemann's miasm theory,as it has become known, has been a difficulty for homoeopathic practioners ever since. Some have responded like  Stapf and Gross, with embarrasment;others have seen it as the most brilliant contribution to Homoeopathy.Early English writers such as Dudgeon and Hughes were outright in their condemnation of it,while early Americans such as Allen and Kent seized upon it as the missing element in an otherwise perfect science. To this day many practioners ignore it while others make it the foundation of their practice.(Rima Handley)

SULPHUR - ASSORTED part 1

Dr.BLACKWOOD: It is frequently of use in nervous derangements of the climacteric period, when there are hot flushes during the day, with weak, faint spells that pass of with a little seating.

Dr.BOERICKE :Sulphur -  When carefully-selected remedies fail to act, especially in acute diseases, it frequently arouses the reactionary powers of the organism.

Dr.CLARKE (DECACHORDS)  :Mental and physical inertia; selfish, self-important, obstinate; chronic grumbler; melancholy yet often full of daydreams (even illusions) producing a foolish kind of happiness; lack of concentration; weak of memory especially for names and recent events; over-sensitiveness to bad odours.

Dr.MORRISON :Laziness is one of the grand characteristics of the Sulphur patient. He constantly procrastinates in his tasks. He thinks of many projects but rarely undertakes them. He may prefer to sit and discuss philosophy to actually working on practical matters. One Sulphur patient expressed this trait by reading many magazine reviews of books because, although he wished to be well-versed on current literature, he just couldn't find the effort needed to readthe book itself.

Dr.LIPPE and Dr.DUNHAM The king of remedies around which centres the whole Materia Medica .
The troubles of the skin are apt to alternate with some internal trouble (Graph., Rhus-t.)

CLINICAL TIP FROM Dr.H.A Roberts and excerpts about Hypericum

You all know that in the proving of Hypericum it is markedly worse in cold damp weather. You also know that many cases of latent rheumatic conditions in the body settle in the injured parts. You do not always need to get the history of an injury. You may use Hypericum to advantage in some cases of rheumatism that may or may not settle in the injured parts.(Dr.H A Roberts)

In wounds where formerly Acon. and Arn. were given alternately, Hypericum cures.(Allen's Keynotes)

Excessive painfulness is a guiding symptom to its use.
Has an important action on the rectum; haemorrhoids.
